Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
When I attended West Point, I found that I was extremely well prepared for the rigorous academics and athletics found there. Graduating high in my class, I credit Subiaco's academic and athletic programs for preparing me. It is located in a lovely part of the state with easy access to the outdoors for hunting, camping and fishing. Good things for young men. Upon graduation, one joins an alumnus of accomplished, enthusiastic gentlemen.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
Subiaco is located at a Benedictine Monastery. Around 40 monks/priests are present. Most of the educators are lay people, but a number of the monks teach as well. There is strong religious atmosphere at Subiaco.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I was a day student.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
It was a small school, and EVERY STUDENT was involved in something. Essentially, every student had an opportunity to play a leadership role in some endeavor.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
No final words.

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Classes were small with individual attention.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
The school has really excellent facilities for sports and plays in divisions appropriate for its size.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
The school has active arts, music and theatre programs. Their Jazz Band travels the state for many appearances. Unusually, one has an opportunity to learn to fabricate stained glass windows.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
I was heavily involved in sports, so that curtailed other extracurricular activities. There are social events with young ladies included which are well attended.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
I was a day student, but the school does have terrific individual rooms for boarding students.s

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The dining arrangement is cafeteria style in a large dining area.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The school is in a rural area, the town of Subiaco is very small. The school does run buses to nearby larger towns. Frankly, these days, I think the rural nature is an asset. Students have access to hunting, fishing, camping and hiking in a lovely area of the state. The students love it!
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
Young ladies are included in activities. Believe me, the girls know where 150 young men are located and join in the fun. Notices from the school that I receive show many occasions for social mingling.
